Hi… I’m Shea!

The history: Born and raised in Tennessee making music videos with my sisters, filling notebooks with drawings and chasing peacocks on the farm. I received a BFA in Graphic Design and spent hours in the darkroom before digital cameras were 'cool'. Sweet home Alabama called my name for an internship with Southern Living Magazine and four years later became Art Director and freelance photographer for Portico, a local lifestyle magazine.

In 2006 I was asked to photograph my cousin's wedding... enter a Digital Rebel and the panicked 'how to photograph a wedding' google search. At the end of 2011, I will have captured 83 weddings and over 250 portrait sessions. That's approximately 375,000 clicks of the shutter.

My love languages are hugs and mix cds.
During college, one of my four jobs was a middle-school-party DJ.
DJ name: shicka shicka boom boom.
Nickname ever since: Shea boom, boom boom or just plain boom.

Go-to gear: Canon Mark II, Hasselblad, Holga and the iPhone.
